Its founder, Mr. Oh Kok Peng, began his journey in the Arowana world purely out of passion. What started as a personal hobby eventually grew into a retail outlet, Kawai Aquarium, located in Bayan Lepas, Penang.

A decade later, this passion led to the establishment of a full-scale breeding facility. In 2010, Kawai Arowana Farm was built in Bukit Merah, Perak — one of Malaysia’s most renowned origins of the Asian Arowana. Today, the company carries more than twenty-one years of experience in Arowana breeding, distribution, and export.

The second generation successor, Mr. Oh Kai Liang, continues the legacy by modernizing the business and bringing the brand into the digital era. Under his leadership, the brand identity was streamlined to “KAWAIARO”, a name designed to be distinctive, memorable, and globally friendly.
